Nurturing the Portfolio and Post-Investment Life
We at Meytav understand that the real challenges relating to each company present themselves from the day following the completion of the investment. In some ways these challenges are even more intense within the framework of the incubator: to achieve results and success within the timegframe and budget provided and decided upon. Meytav endevours to give the very best support to its portfolio companies in various ways:
Team
Meytav places paramount emphasis on the assembly of a well balanced, professional and an experienced management team for each of the portfolio companies.
The acceptance of each company into the Incubator is conditional upon the recruitment of a CEO, who will complement the skills of the scientist or entrepreneur behind the company. In addition, Meytav will appoint industry experts, academics, or well-seasoned entrepreneurs as active members on the portfolio company’s Board of Directors and scientific advisory board – to share their wealth of experience, knowledge and valuable contacts.
Infrastructure
In addition to the physical “work space” given to each portfolio company, Meytav supplies it with the necessary company basics:
~ Computer network, maintenance and general administrative services
~ Legal and accounting services
~ Constant IP and regulatory consulting
Meytav has established offices in Herzelia, close to the technological heart of Israel, which is a vital bonus, for access to investors and partners as part of the business development activities of each portfolio company.
Laboratory
Meytav has completed the establishment of a new laboratory facility, which provides a state of the art work space, with full technological support. This enables portfolio companies to begin work immediately, without the need to acquire an unnecessary inventory of highly expensive equipment. General, and specialized, essential equipment required for modern life science research is provided on a shared basis.
The laboratory is designed and built to provide portfolio companies with advanced equipment and optimal conditions that will accelerate the initial research and development phases, and will enable them to reach the market as soon as possible. It offers a range of facilities for life science research including fermentation, cell culture, molecular biology and chemistry. Engineering
Meytav has already established an in-house engineering unit, enabling portfolio companies to design, review and progress rapidly in all engineering-related tasks. This capability is especially important for medical device companies, which are attempting to reach an “alpha” prototype in a short time frame.
Strategic Modelling and Business Development
Meytav management plays a key role in all aspects of the planning, execution and monitoring of the portfolio companies' work plans. This includes common goal setting and planning, benchmarking, establishment of budgets and workplans, and assistance in all aspects of the above.
