About Us

Systems offers innovative solutions for soft-tissue fastening and attachment within the world of Endogun Medical Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS).

The internal fastening of tissues – a key element in many MIS operations - is one of the more difficult procedures to perform. With Endogun’s CE- and FDA-cleared novel platform technology for soft-tissue fastening, safe and effective MIS procedures can be performed in a simple manner.

By offering a clinical approach and surgical methods that may be more easy-to-use for surgeons and safer for patients than today’s options, the Company aims to significantly improve the quality and outcome of many MIS procedures.

Applications

EndoFast Reliant™ for urogynecology

Pelvic Organ Prolapse

Using a single-incision transvaginal procedure, Endogun's EndoFast Reliant™ system is a facile fixation system that offers a truly minimally invasive surgical treatment for Pelvic Organ Prolapse. By means of fastening a mesh to tissue, the EndoFast Reliant system™ has significant advantages over existing trocar-passing (blind) techniques :

  • Offering far lower trauma to the patient
  • Ensuring greater ease of use for the physician
  • Empowering the physician with far greater visibility than available with other techniques
  • Enabling tissue attachment stronger than today's surgical solutions.

and hence resulting in a simpler and safer overall procedure.

Stress Urinary Incontinence

Similar to Endogun’s Pelvic Organ Prolapse solution, and often performed by the same group of urogynecologists, the EndoFast Reliant™ system may be used to protect the urethra from excess mobility, the cause of Stress Urinary Incontinence. The EndoFast Reliant™ system for Stress Urinary Incontinence is a fast, simple procedure, which may be performed in the doctor’s office under local anesthesia, and ensures accurate suprapubic sling placement with minimal trauma.

The EndoFast Reliant Anastemosis Device

Endogun has also developed a novel surgical technology to simplify the fastening of two hollow tubes together - known as anastemosis. It has applied the initial application of its technology to the field of urology, in order to simplify the demanding procedure of re-attachment of the bladder to the urethra after a prostatectomy procedure. The EndoFast Reliant™ Bladder Fixator was licenced to a world leader, Cook Medical (Spencer, Indiana) in August 2007.

Other products

The Company has additional areas of development where internal soft-tissue fastening will benefit from a potentially less invasive, safer and more effective product.

The EndoFast Reliant™ system for soft-tissue repair

Endogun’s EndoFast Reliant™ system is an FDA- and CE-cleared platform that permits the attachment of a mesh to soft tissue in a minimally-invasive manner, using unique fasteners.

Such an improved MIS tissue-fastening system is an invaluable aid in adapting open, higher-risk procedures to simpler and more effective treatments, reducing associated procedural risk, post-operative side effects, and potentially also reducing the level of anesthesia needed for such procedures.

The initial focus of the Company is the rapidly growing field of urogynecology, focusing on the female pelvic floor region, encompassing organs associated with the urological and genital tracts.

EndoFast Reliant™ applications to Pelvic Organ Prolapse

EndoFast Reliant™ applications to Stress Urinary Incontinence

The Company's product range is designed to enable improved tissue fastening and offer support to mobile organs. This is of great value in the two largest urogynecology markets:

  • - Pelvic Organ Prolapse - where pelvic organs are falling into the vaginal region
  •  - Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) - where excess pressure on the bladder causes urine leakage through the urethra

These large markets cumulatively affect over forty million women, and have already reached about one million operations per year in US and Europe[1]. The procedures used today already utilize many MIS techniques, and offer a fertile ground for rapid product uptake.

Future markets include other areas of surgery that require simpler and safer soft-tissue  suturing/fastening techniques.
