Eqlibra Medical Systems was founded as a Meytav incubator portfolio company on September 1st 2007. The company is developing a device and a procedure for enhancing the recuperation of patients suffering MI (“heart attack”) after Percutaneous Cardiac intervention. Sector and field of Activity Medical device, cardiology The technology Eqlibra is developing a device to be applied to patients suffering from MI and that require the treatment of PCI (balloon and stent in angioplasty procedure). The approach for enhancing the recuperation of such patients has been demonstrated in animal studies (feasibility tests) and the company is in the developing stages of a specific device that could easily be added to the current treatment of choice. The market Most of the patients arriving at the PCI arena will benefit from a valuable recuperation enhancement obtained at a minimal addition to today’s procedure. The latest figures are in the order of more than 500,000 patients annually.
