Underlying Science and Technology

FlexSIS is developing the prosthetic disc, which is designed to support or substitute a part of the patient’s spine while preserving some natural movements of the spinal column without significantly changing the load pattern on the adjacent vertebrae. The proposed system is designed for the posterior TOTAL DISC REPLACEMENT (TDR) and should imitate the natural mobility and the load transfer mechanism observed in a healthy spine.
