SpearCast Ltd. was founded as a Meytav Incubator portfolio company on February 2004. The company has offices in the north of Israel as well as in Tel Aviv.

Underlying Science and Technology

Local search is the second most popular service on the internet with approximately 849 million local searches conducted monthly (Piper Jaffray, Feb. 2007). While most people search for local businesses in sites like Google, Yahoo! Internet Yellow Pages (IYP), and blogs, they are often interested in additional business attributes that are not readily available in these sites. Local search sites, city guides etc. wish to fill that gap and require rich content on local businesses.

Team – Management and Advisors

The company is headed by a team of experienced entrepreneurs: 

Hanan Lifshitz, co-founder and CEO, has held senior product and marketing positions at HyperBanner and Flash Networks and has managed investments at Sadot, a venture capital fund. 

Erez Chocva, co-founder and president, founded HyperBanner Inc., and has managed its growth into a leading global Internet company with over 300,000 SME customers in 33 countries. Both Erez and Hanan served at 8200.
 
Jack Elaad, chairman of the board, brings 35 years of investment and management experience; Jack ran and chaired Sadot, a venture capital fund, and currently serves as chairman of the First International Bank and U-Bank. In addition, the company’s top R&D and marketing positions are held by senior executives from leading Internet firms, including Shopping.com and ICQ.
